Ignition switch replacement

Simple procedure, read the instructions when you get the new one. I recently changed mine out of a 79 and it was fastenened with "knock off" bolts, meaning the heads were sheared off and I had to drill them out. After that I just re-threaded for regular bolts, I believe I did it for 1/4" bolts but can't remember exactly. Depending on your car you may not have to do that, they may just be regular bolts.

I believe mine had security bits, might of just been regular torx, don't remember. It's rather simple, just unhook your battery, pull off the plastic covers under the steering column. I then lowered my column, took out the "bolts" holding it in oh and unplugged it obviously. installation is reverse procedure.
