Default 5.0 harmonic balancer differences

My first question did the 94-95 5.0 GT use a different harmonic balancer compared to the older 86-93 5.0 mustangs. I understand these 94-95 mustangs use a shorter waterpump which set the surpentine belt back 1.5" compared to the 86-93 mustang 5.0L There fore i would think the crank pulley is set back further as well? Is the harmonic balancer different?

I found this ebay link

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190305928202...84.m1438.l2649

But its the only place saying its different therefore i'm not sure what to believe.

could someone Tell me if there the same or different and maybe post a picture of one. As i'm looking for one so would like to know what it looks like.

I think the timing marks are in a different spot. HBs go bad. I would suggest buying a new one.

Same one on both engines. Pulley size variations are compensated by the pulley itself, not the balancer.

For what they cost, you are much better off just getting a new. That one on e-bay looks sort of used.
Pioneer sells a good replacement, not SFI but you don't need that anyway, also try Summit Racing......

I have Summit's. It's made by Pro-Race, IIRC. Not SFI approved, but still a nice balancer for the money

They are not the same! you cant use over a 6 3/8 OD balancer on a sn set it will scrape on the bottom bolt of the water pump!!!!!

Wanna test it go ahead.....

Most of the balancers are 6.5in OD they hit, there are a few that are 6 3/8 and some 6.1 those are the ones you get to choose from..
Pioneer, professional products and fluidampar are some choices. The trickflow piece will work too but it is a modular setup buy pulley mounting piece and removable weights..
