Default Small knicks at the end of the cylinder bore.

I bought a rebuilt short block and I'm tearing it apart to check the ring gaps. I removed all the pistions and 2 of the cylinders at the end have small knicks in them. They are not sharp and they are dented in the bore, I can feel it with my finger nail. Is this ok? Or does this need to be fixed?

I'm pretty sure that's ok, so long as it's still smooth edged for the piston skirt. I could be wrong though, I'm no machine shop. Your rod bearings/wristpins, however, are not. That's from a rod hitting it. Maybe even a bent rod if this engine has ever seen forced induction.

Here's hoping it was truly rebuilt after that.
