Hey guys, I had my speedometer rebuilt back in March because it was broken. Well ever since I put that new speedometer and speedometer cable in, the needle bounces up and down until I reach about 35 mph and then it acts normal. I installed everything correctly, maybe it's something with the gears in the transmission that turn the cable?

 

I have the same problem, I was told the cable is getting hooked on something. Sorry I can't help more then that.

 

Thats not uncommon, I get it too Usually in 3rd or 4th if im going slow.

 

Maybe I should try repositioning the cable housing so it's more straight.

 

35 mph sometihng might be off, but mine is shakey/unstable to about 45ish km/h.

 

it's a common problem.....a new cable might help but it's sometimes the heads unit

 

Once I hit 65 mine starts to do it. Its not eratic, just bounces up in down.

 

mine shakes too, but it seems like its only at high speeds, but it doesn't seem like anything worth spending money on.

 

Sounds like this is a common problem......lol....mine does it too until about 20

I heard a new cable with fix the problem and I am going to do that one day...but until then I am just like all of you.....bouncy TACH

 

Mine bounces up to about 35 also.
