Default Changed tfi module now symptoms seem worse?

I recently changed my tfi module with a used motorcraft one that I had on a spare distributor I had laying around. It was running awesome for a day then today it was breaking up when I hit about 3k...the tach was kinda jumping when the rpm's got that high too. It is also cranking for about 3-5 seconds before it starts too. I had these symptoms with the tfi module that was originally in but now it just seems alot worse...I recently gapped my plugs at .048, not sure if that would cause anything? Should I get a brand new tfi or could it be something else?

Forgot to add that it has new plugs and wires, cap and rotor, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump and filter was done about 1,000 miles ago. Could the pickup coil be bad?

How bout the ignition coil? A lot of times the tfi and ignition coil go bad at the same time, I believe one leads to the other.

yea that sounds like a bad coil , the hotter it gets the more resistance it has.
