Default Backfiring after warm-up

I'm having a time trying to figure out WTF is wrong with my stang. It all started about two weeks after I bought the car. Car was running great when I first got it. It started running rough with loss of power and backfiring and stumbling. I bought a code reader because a CEL but, I can't get any codes out of it. This car is a transplant 5.0 from a 4 cyl. so I figured that is why I can't get codes. Anyway I started with a tune up,plugs, cap rotor, wires. No help. Then changed the TFI module. No help. Changed the MAF and adjusted the timing to about 12 deg. BTDC. Started running better than ever before. I was STOKED this thing WAS hauling A_ _! 24 hours later I drove it to the car wash (a couple of miles away) It started running like crap again. So I thought it might be a fuel problem so I changed the fuel filter and fuel pump relay. Took it out for a test drive and after it gets warm it starts running like crap. Only now it ran so bad I could barely get it home. Something is getting hot and breaking down. At start up the idle is rough for a couple of min. but then settles down. Then after about 15 min. of driving is when things degrade and go south. Any Ideas guys?

thanks for the help in advance,

Roger
