Again..SHOCKS DO NOT SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE CAR...springs do, Hence the term, 'Lowering Springs'. Bad shocks would only cause the car to be bouncy, not lose height...

A bad shock will cause a decrease in the height of the vehicle. You are right about the springs supporting the weight of the car, but the shocks will still alter the ride height up to a few inches. I had a sagging shock on my right side because the left side was in a minor accident and that shock was replaced way before I owned the car. So the left side was still good while the right was worn out...which made it sag.
I replaced both front and my car leveled out...which raised my saggy right side 1"
So yes shocks can have a impact on your car's height.
Are your shocks greasy at all black89gt? If the is gunk and grease on the outside of the shock then they could be leaking which is causing the height to get lower and lower. If they are just dirty (which is normal) then there is no leak and they could be fine.
To determine if you need a new shock do a bounce test. Push down ontop of the tire well and let go. The car should just go up and that is it. If the car goes up and down and up again (bouncing) then it is time to replace the shocks. If it doesn't bounce then you don't have to replace, but still can if you want.

ok guys.. the car went up some and leveled out for some odd reason today...0_o.. and also i also added upper and lower control arms.. do those have any affect on ride height? because when i put my car on the lift and when i put it back down, it sits really high but i just push down on the trunk of my car nad the control arms settle to the dropped height of the car..
