convertible top frame compatibility?

Default convertible top frame compatibility?


I have a 1989 convertible mustang 5.0 gt. Unfortunately the frame supporting the top cracked it few places and needs to be replaced. I've managed to find a used one for fairly cheap. The used frame I found comes from 1992 mustang my mustang is 1989 are the frames the same/compatible ?

Probably not. Looking at 5.0 Resto dot com, the cloth tops are the same from 83 to 90 and then from 91 to 93. If the cloth is different, the frame is probably different.
