Default new shifter problem

I installed a Tri-axe shifter on my T-5 a few weeks ago, set the positive stops with a gauge so there is a .20 gap between the shifter and the bolts. Now when I shift fast/hard into 2nd and 3rd, I get a grinding noise, if I shift slow/easy, it doesn't happen, I can even just be driving and be in 3rd, and push the shifter forward and it makes the grinding noise, I know I have my clutch in and have even pulled up on the pedal to readjust the clutch. Anyone help me out with some ideas?

I have a tri-ax shifter too, and in the instructions it says to make the stops so you can fit a piece of paper between it.
I think you have too big of a gap there.
set it with it in 3rd gear and 4th gear, then make sure it will go in all the other gears .
