WOT Problem

RE: WOT Problem
take timing up even higher for NA. also what is your plug gap? NA should be about .050 or .055 with MSD and .035 on the spray. NA i would probably run 16-18* timing if there isnt knock. since you got that much fuel you can get away with it. also keep fuel PSI at 35 for NA. also check TPS and see what hte voltage is at idle

RE: WOT Problem
it sounds like you have waay too much fuel, I tried some 30#ers and I couldn't get it to idle, let alone drive. even with the 24#ers I run rich.
when I spray my 100 shot timing is at 12 degrees, and fuel pressure is at 38 psi.
I still use the stock plug gap of 0.052"
when I dont spray, I lower the fuel pressure to 32psi
I dont think the stock heads will ever flow enough air to match the fuel of 30#ers.
when you check the tps, do it with the engine off, key on.
there is a different reading with the car running.

RE: WOT Problem
ok. I will bump my timing up, I have it at 13 now. and am running 36 psi. My plug gap is stock right now, I didnt gap them any differently, because I was only running 100 shot. I just put the 150 shot on there, haven't even run it yet. I run my timing at 8* with the spray. Ford Racing tech told me my car woud run fine with the 30 lbers. I trust those guys, esp. this one named Jeff. He has helped me so much before. He knows alot. I am having him help me with this too. SOmeone told me to run my pressure up to 45 or so. Since I have the pump and inj. to handle the volume. he said that might help me out. I might try that also this week. I will let you all know.

RE: WOT Problem
to much pressure with larger injectors would flood out the motor. thats why you reduce the psi. also with a 100 shot 8* is a little low. with a 100shot 10* is fine. 150 shot should be at 8* and just run good octane. and you should gap the plugs lower for spray, you dont want any mis fires on topend

RE: WOT Problem
you only need to put a smaller plug gap if you have a stock ignition system, if you have a msd use at least a 0.052 gap.
there is no need to run colder plugs either.
I tried 1 step colder and it made the car have no power with or without the spray.
I was dissapointed, so dont waste money on colder plugs unless you run over a 300 shot.
I was told a good rule of thumb is retard timing by 2 degrees for every 50 shot.
but thats just to be safe.
those numbers are from what you run without the nos.
so, if you can run 16 degrees of timing N/A , I would start at 10 degrees with the 150 shot.
but unless you use slicks you wont have any traction when you spray.
my times were a tenth slower with a 125 shot compared to the 100 shot.
but every shift it spun the tires.
when I first ran the spray, I was scared of breaking something, then I got a little more relaxed about it.
make sure you use at least 92 octane gas, and with the 150 shot mabye add an octane booster.
the first time I ran my 75 shot I ran 10 deg timing and fuel pressure at 42psi.
my best time was a 14.02 @ 101.
then I upped my timing to 13 degrees, and fuel pressure to 38psi
I ran a 13.6 @ 104
I put my 100 shot in and my timing at 8 degrees and fuel at 40psi.
ran a 13.6 @ 103
changed timing to 12 deg, fuel press @ 38psi
I ran my best time of 13.2 @107.
I guess its all in the tune. just make sure you dont go lean and you should be fine.

RE: WOT Problem
yeah, i retard my timing to 10* when I had the 100 shot. I went 8* with the 150. fuel press. was at 40. I never got any good times at the strip. I spun all the way iin the 1/8th and I got 8.5's. I use my stock gap cause I have a MSD box. I tried the 35psi, and then 37 psi, both with 13*timing advance. no luck, still bogged down oon top end. think it could be a bad TPS? I havent changed mine ever, and I know they could just go bad at any time.
