4 Cylinder to 5.0 Conversion
I know this topic has probably been beaten to death on every forum, so apologies for creating another thread about it. So...my 89' 5.0 was wrecked a few years ago. I decided to sit on it with plans of restoring it, however, I realized the money and time that would have to go into it to get the body and frame straight again would just be too much. I'll be taking a look at an 89' 4 banger for $500. Car supposedly runs and drives fine. If the car is straight, I plan on taking it with me. I realize tranny, suspension, fuel lines, wiring, etc., etc. are different, but I have a complete 5.0 donor car, not going out and buying all of this separately. What I'd like to know, especially with the engine transplant, is there any MAJOR fabrication involved in converting a 4 cylinder car? I've been hitting up different forums and searching google and I know, for lack of better words, there is an extensive list of differences between the cars, but nothing about any kind of significant fabrications needing to be done.
