No don't assume it good. The tumbler inside the ignition could be bad. You have to check it with a multimeter when the key is in the on position. The tumblers fail often on old cars.

his problem is it won't crank......the tumbler works fine, at least when he called me that was what he said, unless things have changed since then. Jim, if you think it could be the clutch switch, did you unplug it and stick a jumper wire in it to bypass the switch?....remember have car in nuetral if you do that.

hey mike I didn't want to keep bothering you. I tried jumper wire on pedal safety switch and nothing, also tried test light on wire on starter relay you talked about for ignition and no power there either.

jim acorrding to this diagram and I'm not sure how accurate it is, it also shows a neutral switch but to my knowledge everything is down on the pedal assembly,

go down on the column and back probe the wire for the starter relay, and see if it lights up in the crank position...if not it may be a bad ignition switch elec portion...not the lock and tumbler.

grab a test light and check for power at the fuses for the radio with the ign switch to the run position, we need to see what fuses aren't being powered.......possible fuseible link issue if so
