I would NOT bore to .040
Stay at .030
You will weaken somewhat due to the thin wall castings used. There really is NO more power to be had by going .040 anyway...........

I would stick with a 0.030 too, the only reason I went with 0.040 is because thats what they had to take off, to clean the cylinder walls.
so I didnt really have a choice.

There is always another choice, just get another block. Sounds expensive but I don't think it is when you compare the cost to a short engine life........

Yeah I am sticking with some Forged Dish pistons that are .030 over they are 7.04cc so I will be able to keep my compression down a lil bit. Thanks Guys!!

Hey Silver I am in British Columbia about 8 hours from Edmonton, I am supplying the shop with bearings, pistons, cam, double roller timeing chain, rod bolts, and windage tray... you know of anywhere in Calgary that does repatble work?

no, not in calgary.
with you supplying all that they charge you 1700. thats a friggin joke unless they are putting the whole engine together and installing it for you.

are you using your block?

yeah its my block I am sending it to them with the crank and rods they are doing the machine work and assebmling it up to the cam for 1700 plus tax in BC is 14% soo it will be close to 2 g.... hahah I think I am going to look for prices in Calgary to get it done.
