Thumbs up Factory Tach Problem

Hello,

My tach messed up in my 93. It stays at like 3k rpms after I crank it. It will go higher than that if I wind it some but, it is by no means correct. Anyone know of a fix besides replacement?

Thanks!

You can try pulling it out and cleaning the contacts off where it plugs in. Check the wiring. Other than that Im out of ideas.

Yea,, I probly would have looked at those joints too,, Get a magnifying glass and you can probly see a crack in them

I had a heater control do that in a intrepid ,, It stuck on high heat all the time and I pulled it apart and found a cracked solder joint
