clutch cable
I had a quick question i put on my new clutch cable and the pedal was very smooth and after a few days its back to being stiff again. i wanted to know if i routed the cable right. It goes from the firewall to the mounting bracket on the drivers fender then under the motor mount to the fork right or are you not surpose to go under the mount it just sounds like im doing something wrong. The cable isnt to tight either i have tightened and loosened it and it doesnt matter.

RE: clutch cable
I can't remember exactly, as I put mine in about a year ago; but from what I remember, there was really only one way to make it fit. And I think you do go under the mount... I just went down and checked mine and from what I could see (using a flashlight and lying on the ground), the cable goes from the mounting bracket then above the engine mount (very near the oil filter) and then follows the oil pan back to the clutch.
This setup is for an adjustable clutch cable though, but it sounds like you have an adjustable one, so that shouldn't be any problem...and if you don't, I'd imagine it would still be the same path.
Other than that, you would usually tell immediately if you installed something like the clutch cable wrong, as it has very low tendancy to bend or move at all, with the mounting bracket and the stiffness of the cable itself. But anythings possible (the one I bought my car with was wedged in part of the mounting bracket I think and caused about 60+lbs of pressure to move, which inturn caused it to rub on the firewall which made it snap; hence the new one a few months after I bouth my car).
I hope that's enough information to get it, it would most likely be easiest to jack/hoist up your car a ways so you can make sure its not snagged on something right now, and if it is, try to figure out why that happened.
