Default 93 5.0 map sensor

I have a map senor
but it looks like if it has a vacuum line connector
the thing is
I don’t have that hose line
it’s connected
but the hose line is capped

I’m thinking of changing the sensor to a new one
will it make any difference?
or should I leave it there ? Old

it is for barometric pressure, not for fuel. Ford got away from map sensors on the mustang after 88.

86-88 models use a map sensor & 89-95 models use a bap sensor. Its basically the same sensor. The only physical difference between the two is a map sensor doesn't have the white collar on it where the vacuum hose port is and the bap sensor does. The collar was added to prevent 89-95 owners from installing a vacuum hose on it.
86-88 models- a vacuum hose gets ran from the upper intake to the map sensor port.....
89-95 models- the bap sensor port is left open so it can vent to atmosphere.....

If you don't have a bap sensor code (126) present and/or symptoms of a defective bap sensor, theres no reason to replace it.The sensors output is used to help the ecu set the correct air fuel mixture.
