i have been trying to find out if a x303 cam will work with stock pistons in a 89 motor...i have heard that they need to be notched but i want to know for sure if the cam will work with out the pistons having to be notched.. the heads that will be used will probably be gt40x heads or a little better head....i know check the clearence, but if you guys have tried it and know for sure if it will work or not....the advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks

 

every combo is different, only way to know is try it out

 

one dont get the gt40x heads there are better heads out there. get some trick flows or afr's, whats the lift and duration on that cam?

 

it is a 286 duration and .542 lift....i will definatly make sure i get something better that the gt 40x heads....i will look in to afr or trick flow...

 

stock rockers on that?

 

Im not positive but I think that cam might be too big. I dont think it will work.
