how does the cubic inches matter?

street able is a relative term? the cam is dependent on streetability, ac, etc etc you don't have to have a extremely aggressive cam. Thats also why its important to talk to a cam designer and tell them your goals with the car. They can make a cam specifically for your cam and it can idle similar to stock if not stock

there isn't really a reason not to go a 347

i'm bout to get the kits from www.dssracing.com
LMFAO thats funny dude. you need to talk with FullAuto.

and yeah there is no replacement for displacement, but a shorter stroke WILL rev faster - and is the advantage a 331 has over a 347. ya gotta pick your battles and decide which is more important.

im giving up 13 inches in my 302 / 289 swap, but IMO those 13 cubes are worth the better rod/stroke ratio.

my77 is correct, but 347's make a few more tq #'s down low to pretty much make up for it. with a big cam and intake and heads to match a 6k-6500 rpm revving 347, will be one hell of a ride. i got a 331, i like it.
a 347 can be a dd, they may not last as long as a 331, but its all in the builders skill and knowledge and alot of good luck. a high performance motor should not be expected to last as long as a stocker motor, sometimes it happens, others it dont. if your making hp, then ur breaking sh*t, and if your not breaking stuff then you over built ur car. lol enough ranting LOL
