paper pump

I bought a power stearing pump on ebay. It was full of packing paper. If I don't get every last piece out will it hurt the pump?

the paper was IN the pump??? and yeah i'd assume that anything other than the proper power steering fluid is BAD

Do as Pacepony says and take an air hose to it. The paper might clog the pump if not removed completely.

Then write a letter to the selling notifying him of how much of a moron he is for packing the pump with paper

The paper wasn't intentionally packed in the pump, but it didn't come with a cap (which I knew) so alot of the paper got in it. Also, when I say pump I mean in the resivour. Can the resivour be taken off so I can make sure all the paper is out?
