Major engine chug

Major engine chug
Im posting this for a buddy of mine. He has a 95 GT and it chugs hardcore when accelerating. It virtually has no power. He has
Mac colr ait intake on it along with 3.73 gears and exhaust. And im pretty sure thats all. He got a new mass air unit nstalled that was suppose to take care of recalibrating the computer to make the car run right but that didnt work. He replaces the TPS and that also didnt fix the problem. If any one can help me out then make a post. Nething helps.

RE: Major engine chug
Is the car showing a check engine light at all?
Double-check that MAF sensor. Why did he change it to begin with?
If it were me, I'd get it on a dyno or he can continue to throw money at parts he doesn't need.

RE: Major engine chug
yea he said that the CE light is on because of him taking the cats off, but idk. I dont know if someone told him or if he just made it up, but he said the reason that he got the new MAFS was because of the Mass air intake that he has on there. He thought that it was what was causing the engine to chug and sputter.

RE: Major engine chug
on 95 and older the computer doesnt sense if the cats are there or not. They didn't add that system till 96. It could be the TPS, or (like mine was) the intake was leaking hardcore lol. The spark plug gap seems to make quite a difference also.
