I am going to be tuning my car this week and have a question.. its just a stock 5.0 exhaust, 73mm MAF and CAI. the car is horribly weak from stop to 3000 but once it hits 3300 the power comes on noticibly.. also the gas milege is real bad (about 165 highway miles to a tank). I have been told that these probs can be the result of the timing being set wrong. for a car being driven 40-60 miles a day and only runs on Plus gas wat should the timing be? Im hoping by putting a good tune on it that it will run alot better.. any help is great

if it feels like it just wakes up once you hit 3000rpm, then your ignition module on the side of the distributor is toast, get a new one.

my car was crap when I got it, same thing, barely any power till 3k rpm. then it picked up really fast,

I put a new one in and it pulled like that in all gears.

 

mine is lacking power i cleared the codes an all is well until the check engine liites come back on usally between 1500-2500 rpm approx. i had a code for tps,ego,secondary fuel, and one other(i cant rember off hand) i put in a different maf it pulled really hard until check engine light came on the mass air made it idle better what could this be???only mods off road h pipe mufflers kn and 5spd swap? it is really getting on my nerves when it start acting up sometimes it pop thru the intake

 

well sounds like you have many problems,

 

i also have replaced the tps to it has only been acting this way since the weather changed! new o2 are only like 28 buck at advanced cause they have 10off coupons so i think i am going to pick some up
