RE: 92 lx coupe built
this is a beat topic, but i hope you didnt get ripped off and if its in really good shape maybe sell it and buy one with a 5.0 or else it will cost you a lot more and lots of work. Im not going to list everything because im sure you will come up with posts here if you search for it, once a week someone asks about a 5.0 swap. Good luck and welcome to the forums.

Check this site out it pretty much tells you everthing you need to know, and dont listen o all theses people that say it cost too much. If the car is in decent shape its worth the swap. Its best to find a donor car that is a v-8 that you can take the complete K-member out of. Its much easier that way,, because that includes all the front springs and brakes that you need. Then all you need to do is throw in your engine and computer if going with EFI, a double hump cross member and find an 8.8 rear end. I just converted mine over to a V-8 setup, no engine yet, but to get the car ready for a v-8 i have only spent $50 and that was for a donor car.
So unless you can find a really cheap 5.0 with a better body than yours the swap is worth it. you just have to look around to find the suff you need.

yeah i agree, coupes are getting awfully expensive....i'm on my third one now , and almost was gonna do a 5.0 swap.
the clean ones are going for $7k+ w/ low miles way more, i saw one on ebay w/ 87k for $10 grand, one w/ 12k for $15 grand
meanwhile clean 2.3's sell for $2500
crate motor + crate trans = 1 clean notch for $7k
