how much horse power would I get if I had the heads milled so the compression is up to 10.5.1 ?will the stock internals hold up, is this worth it, Im staying N/A, so is it worth the power gain. will there be any P/V clearance probs?

 

not much....you will have some issues if you milled that much off

 

thats 1.5 in CR.. that is 45hp added in theory

 

plus you will have to mill the intakeand could have dist issues with how much will need to be shaven..like 60=90 thousand

 

my friend got 90 tho taken off of his and his is fine, but i think he has other stuff done to the engine but im not shure

 

If you could mill .060-.090 off you could run into valve/piston clearance problems.
45 HP? I don't think so even in theory, maybe something like 15 HP........

 

sorry but for a typical 5.0 HO motor. a rise in .5 of CR is = to 15hp. so if he goes from 9.0 to 10.5 that would be 3x15=45 so yes in theroy it works. and if you dont believe me do some searching before doubting me. for a better source of looking look in the Offical Ford Mustang handbook. i could get technical and post page,paragraph and sentence of the fact but ill leave that for you to find yourself

im pushing awfully close to 11:1 on my 306 runnin on 94 and 93 with timing up in the 16 18 degrees on gt-40 irons shaved .040 and my p/v is fine and my intake sits fine

when that motor gets hot after a while and i got to start it back up it has a bit of trouble firing back up heat soak and what not but

it just is picky and the compression is nice and what not plenty of ***** and stuff just dont go to high if you do it will be completly crap for a true street car id say 10.5 is the max

Mine crept up to 11:1 by accident with the mods i made and its not even outta the hole on the block zero deck with forged flat tops with reliefs

 

i just had mine milled 40thousands and they said mine would be around 10:1 but they said they wouldn't recommend going nemore than that cause of pvc and if it over heated the heads would be done for
