milling stock heads?

RE: milling stock heads?
Quik; In a long, long SAE paper that I still someplaced, published about 1992 a compession ratio increase, under 'optimim' conditions was only going to make you about a 4% increase. Remember, they said 'optimim' whatever that is.....
At that rate, a 300 HP engine would make about 12HP more.........

BTW, the compression increase was in the order of a full point only got you 4%.
When you increase the compression the existing cam won't be anywhere near right to make the motor work anyway.........

ok you go by that i went by whats in this book. could this book be wrong yes. can you be wrong very much possible. now info in an offical reliable book has to be worth something. since if it wasnt then no books would be written. i tend to believe books then ppl majority of time.

Granted, Ford has a lot of real smart people working there. I also think that if you bumped the compression by that much, whatever you had for a cam wouldn't work right to get the 'optimim' (whatever that is) power from the engine.....
