Is 3.35 a good first gear ratio. I can get a really nice T-5 for a good price, but I don't know if the 2.95 or 3.35 first gear is better and i just wanted to know. OD is .68 and I have 3.37 rear end gears.

the 2.95 is a quicker 1st gear the 3.35 is the same as stock and i bet you have 3.27 not 3.37 they dont make that gear

2.95 is less leverage and slower out of the hole , and will last longer b4 you need to shift.

i'm not getting what you mean "quicker"

but basically, the trans you get, unless it has been upgraded to "z" status" or is a "z" trans...it will be 3.35 1st.

on the trans id tag, located on one of the bolts holding the tail to the case, there will be on the lower set of numbers.....1352

after 1352 the next 3 digit number is the tranny id.

200,202,225,227,249,251 are the only 2.95's that are world class.
