I recieved an aluminum flywheel as a gift and wonder if it is an imporvemnt over the steel. Ive heard steel is better for the daily driver and occasional racer and aluminum is more for the dragsters... am I wrong?

Thanks

Well, I'm debating whether or not to put it on ebay or to use it on my car...

ok, if you went to aluminum, it would tach up faster, and in first second and third it would be more snapy.. but as your getting up to speed you will notice that it doesnt have the same ammount of force it did with the steel... all in all if you want it quick off the line an aluminum flywheel is a good start... but for longer distance racing i would stick with the steel... how much hp is your motor pushing anyways? if its alot more then stock then for sure go with the aluminum!

the steel will give you a smoother running engine. with the aluminum the rpms will hang more (when you get up into higher rpms and let of the gas). aluminum will be a little lighter so it might save you a few pounds.
