Questions about my new tranny
I picked up my new transmission today. Slightly built aod, better stall, shift kit, all the goodies. Got a great deal and couldn't turn it down. I was going to do it today but its raining so I'll probably leave it for new years day.
The only problem I see myself having is getting the torque converter bolted to the flex plate. Would I be able to bolt the torque converter to the flex plate then sliding the transmission on and just turning the crank to line up the splines? It looks like a tight fit and I'm not sure if this will work.
I also need some info on setting the tv. The transmission is from a 93 and I'm going to use the tv cable from it since its a different design then my 86's. I'd like to know where I get the gauge to measure line pressure and where do I hook it up at?
Last question, I'm going to get a temp gauge for it, where do I hook it up at?
Thanks,
Zach

RE: Questions about my new tranny
You need to install the converter before mating it to the engine. As you mate it up with the engine turn the converter until the studs are aligned with the flexplate holes then slide in the rest of the way. Make sure you fully seat the converter also, making sure it enges the pump and input shaft.
