Default Nitrous question

I have 93' lx 5.0 and i just insatlled a dry nitrous sytem, I was wanting to know what would be the most effective shot i could take. Now the problem is that I bought the car from someone else and have not had the chance to tear the motor completely apart to see what is making it all tick but i did quite a few mods since I hae purchase the vehicle

the list of mods is as follows

trick flower upper and lower
cold air through the fenderwell
msd ignition
upgraded water pump
upgraded harmonic balancer
upgraded radiator
1.6 lifters
pro 5.0 shorty
flowmasters
no cats
a9l computer- but no chip(damnit)
still running 19lb injectors(damnit)
bbk adjustable fuel pressure regulator(yay)
car runs rough at times and is running rich think it has something to do with computer(damnit damnit damnit)

I know I am forgetting something but any replies would be much appreciated.

75-100 is the best all around and since your fuel system is stock, it's a good place to be.

the 19's are fine but i'd get a 190 pump and a msd 6a

close the plugs up to about .040"

Yeah the 190 pump should be a good add. Now if you are running rich why dont you use the FPR to adjust that? You should be around 38 psi idle i believe.

you can lean out other wise. you want the spark to stay tighter.

and lean + spray = BOOM

I AM ACTUALLY INSTALLING THE FPR RIGHT NOW BUT IT WAS ORIGINALLY FOR THE BOTTLE, THE WAY I LOOK AT IT IF I USE THE FPR TO COMPENSATE FOR RUNNINR RICH I WILL JUST BE PUTTING A BAND AID ON THE PROBLEM AND NOT REALLY FIXING IT, THATS THE ONLY THING THAT RAISES MY TAIL FEATHERS ON THE RICH PROBLEM BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO WASH OUT MY CYLINDER WALLS BUT AT THE SAME TIME I COULD GIVE A CRAP IF THIS BLOCK DECIDES TO TAKE A CRAP IT WILL JUST GIVE ME AN EXCUSE TO GET A SPORTSMAN.

get a msd6A and use the stock plug gap.
you only need to close the gap if you are running a big shot. a 300 shot for example.
the only reason is because a big nitrous shot increases cylinder compression, due to the extra air/fuel burned, and has a tendancy to blow out the spark. it has nothing to do with running lean.

some people here think they know what they are talking about, because they read other peoples posts and information that is mostly about pure drag cars with 500+ hp.
stock gap will be fine for anything under a 200 shot. as long as you have a good ignition.

the only way you will go lean with nitrous and explode something is if your fuel system isnt capable of supporting the extra horsepower you are making.
get at least a 190lph fuel pump and some 24# injectors.

The reason for closer gap is normally if your running a rich mixture. If your running a lean mixture your running a larger gap. If anyone remembers older carberated cars used to run gaps like .030 because they ran much richer. Now cars try to achieve 14.7 a/f mixture and run slightly rich to slightly lean and the larger gap is the best all around for emissions and burning up all the fuel.

I never heard of a spark being blown out, but I've never taken classes or had much experience with cars with power adders.
