Ok so my Edel upper is kinda ugly I used gasket stripper to take off the old gasket this one time and a bunch of the powder coating came off with it.....I have now stripped the on side of the intake down to the bare cast and sanded it with 250 Grit so its nice and smooth right now...... I took some polishing compound and felt bads to one of the sections and it came out super nice. But what I was going to do was polish the lower intake strip the upper and paint it black but leaving the Edelbrock Sybols polished

Should I polish the whole thing and leave it or paint it black ... Both with a polished lower

if you do polish the upper and the lower be sure to take some wax and tar remover and clean them off and spray them with high temp clear or it will get crappy looking.

looks good keep going i think it will look better polished. the finish on that intake is week, thats the same intake my nabor has and his changed colors from heat i guess, it looks like crap. i have seen a few others like that to.

And did I understand you right after I am done clear coat it?

yes i would, i had all my accories polished on my 88 and as soon as i started driving the car from rain and salt it oxidized the metal and it looked worse than it did before i cleaned it up. about 18 hours of my life wasted polishing everything[:@]

That why I was thinking about painting it and being done with it! I dont want to go through all this work for heat to make it look ugly

yea i use this VTH high temp paint it is awsome, the best paint i have ever used, its on my headers and they have not changed colors at all. it is good for 1200 degrees
