Default i broke my e-brake

i was opn my way to the local drag strip and when i parked my car i pulled up the e-brake and i heard a snap. i figured i broke it and dident care much of it. but as i drove off i heard mu back brakes squilling. ther were not locked, just rubing. i went to a local shop the next day and they said the part is 76dollars and with labor the total was 246 dollars. so i walked out. what do i do.

your best bet is to try and get another opinion from another shop... or if you know exactly what the problem is you can probably just fix it yourself. $246 is way too much

first find out what broke their are 3 lines for the e-brake a short one above the driveshaft and two long ones one on either side of the car that go to the brake drums. Check to see if one of the cables broke if so replace the cable its not that hard at all. you can get the parts at 50resto or mustangsunlimited
