Default Bottom End Rebuild?

I recently found out that I may have a case of rod knock and people said it was time for a bottom end rebuild. I have never done anything like that to a car so I will probably get screwed because i am going to have to take it to a shop. How much should it cost so i know if i am getting ripped off or not? any advice will help. thanks

sounds like your bearings, thats what went in my car. there going to have to pull the engine because theres no room to take the oil pan out. your probely going to pay alot. just call a bunch of different shops and chose the best price.

If you are looking for a stock short block you can get them for under a grand right off the shelf . bring your motor with you and they wont charg you a core .

It dont pay to do a stock rebuild you self on a shrot block you will olny save 200 bucks and you hafto wate for mechean shop to do their thing first then buy the parts then the tools then back to the mechean shop if a clearsnce is off and so on

if you go wit better slugs , rods , crank then it's better if you do it cause the mechean shops charge more to put this stuff in
