Default Trans question

My car is an aod and sometimes when it is down shifting it doesnt go into gear right away and is like a one second or less gap where it is in neutral. Would puting gears in help with this problem or make it worse. I am wondering if i should just start saving money for a whole new trans. Let me know what yall think

Default RE: Trans question

Could be a bad valve body or something else internal...if the tranny has some miles on it im sure its getting tired..so maybe now would be a good time to start saving for a good performance rebuild with a nice stall converter.
