my 1988 ford mustang gt, if i put a 89 cobra engine in my gt will it work, being that the 88 was the last year of not having the mass air flow and they started it in 89, will i have to do all kind of crap? or will just putting the 89 engine in work and make it mass air flow?

motors dont know if they are MAF or SD. its jut the tuning

ok yea i take that back, its an 89 5.0 HO EFI just with cobra intake n all, i just want to know if i put that motor in my 88 gt will i have to re-wire or do anything or will the mass airflow already be on the engine and make my car a mass air flow thing or do i need the chip, what?

It should bolt right in, but if it has the 24lb injectors that the Cobra intake come with it wont work without Mass air, well it will but it will run like crap. Same exact motor just the computers are different.

since its a stock ho motor just put 19s on it and remove the maf if the car is SD everything will be fine

If it's an '89 motor. Just because someone put a Cobra intake on it doesn't mean they swapped to 24lb injectors too. 24s will run off SD without a chip. You'll either need to convert computer and harness for mass air or put it in and run SD.

yea i talked to my boy black about it, imma get it and check what injectors and all first i wanna see if i need to get the motor right now, mines running perfectly fine.
