Hey all, I bought my car almost 2 years ago, and it was completely stock. I put in a set of 4.10's for one of my first mods, and the speedo was off, but it still worked. As time went on, and I didn't get the speedo gear or recalibration, the speedo started acting up. It would gradually accellerate up to about 50 MPH then it would tack out to 140mph in a split second when I was really only doing like 55. This went on for a long time, and I finally went out and got a new speedo gear (23 tooth white) and a new speedo cable.

My dad told me to try out just the gear first, as he could se no reason why it would be the cable. So tonight I put the new gear in. I took it for a test drive, and it accellerated up to about 60mph (which was better) and then tached out again! So I went back in the garage, and got out the new speedo cable, lubed it with the supplied lube, and installed it. I took it out for a drive, and it got to 70mph (which is about 10 MPH faster than I was really going) and it tached out again! HELP!

So now I have put in a new speedo gear, and speedo cable! What is there left to do? What could be my problem?
