Opinion needed
Ok so I've been searching and haven't found anything very "definitive" on this. I'm wanting to get some better looking/lighter weight pullies. Most everything I am seeing are "Underdrive" pullies.
So my question is, would underdrive pullies have any adverse effects on the different belt driven systems in the car? (for example the power steering, A/C, and charging systems? Are there any reccomendations on how much is too much?

They make great pullies and they have different sets for different needs. They also list the RPM's at which each set will make full charge.
Also try march performance.
If you get a set, it will come w/ crank, alternator, and water pump pulleys. You get HP from a pulley set b/c it slows down your accessories (i.e. alt/water pump).
If you have a big stereo system in your car, you may want to go w/ a larger amp alternator and/or a capacitor to help offset the loss of charge....Your alternator charge will only be lower at idle-low rpms, after that it won't affect anything.

If you go w/ ASP, buy them from JD's Performance. They have the blue aluminum (which I'll be getting this month) for $79. Most other places, including summit, are around $90ish.

How much lower will the charge be at idle? Like low enough to discharge the battery? Will that cause any electrical problems is I spend a good amount of time in stop-n-go? Right now it is my daily driver and I need it to function properly as such. Once I have my CCNA and have a job such that I can afford a cheap DD, I won't be so worried about it. Maybe I should just wait until then to upgrade the pullies.

You can avoid the dimming lights, etc., by getting a 150 amp or so alternator and/or go the capacitor route.
If you don't have a big stereo and subs, then I wouldn't sweat it too much---what year stang are you getting pulleys for? 87-93 came w/ a WEAK alternator stock (only 85 amps, I think), but 94-95 were 110 or 130. I'm not sure what the newer 3G amps put out.

It's a '93 5.0 LX. Eventually I do plan on putting an aftermarket sound system in there, but not huge. Maybe 500-600 total watts, possibly not even that much. (will have seperate amps for speakers and subs) Though, that will be the last mod I do.

Just get a higher amp alternator and you should be fine. ...go w/ the pullies that reach full charge around 950rpm or less. the 1100rpm might be a bit much in traffic....not sure. You could also email ASP and see what they say.
