Well I just bought a 5.0L mustang it has 75k on the motor, and is 100% completly stock. I was wondering bang for the buck what would be the easiest thing upgrade other then cold air, that is already on the way. Thank you guys seem to have a awsome forum and tons of knowledge.

A gear and bumped timing would also be a good start...and the CAI dosen't really add anything but better looks and maybe a hint of look fast..

yup.....

the 4 biggest biggest gains are

1. gears (i like 4.10's)
2. cheater slicks
3. nitrous
4. heads

a bone stock 5-speed can run 12's (pretty rare but very low 13's are not) on 4.10's and cheater slicks alone.
my '89 notch went 13.20's that way, but had long tubes and flowmaster catback too.

on a 75 shot that car went 12.50's

all the induction stuff , including the intake , will do nothing for you until you have heads done. the heads are the bottleneck and the engine simply can't flow much past about 300-325 hp.

the stock induction and fuel sytem however can support that.

so until you exceed that, your kinda wasting money , except for the fact that sooner or later you'll need it, but could have been faster alot sooner had you waited.

i would do gears and tires right NOW.
then spray it, then go for heads, cam, intake all in 1 shot.

it can run 11's that way...my buddy went 11.80's on a stock block '92 GT , 4.10's , 125 shot , iron gt40 heads slightly ported and decked, and a stock gt40 intake (real one)

welcome to the site, and have fun w/ it.
