my motor has about 3000 km on it since the rebuild and the previous owner who was a mechanic said not to run any synthetic oils in it, didn't say why jus said don't. why would he say this and is it alright if i run it in it now? it's a 306 if that matters.

Moble One and Royal Purple rock. Use them 'cuz they are slick-er-ri-er... 
BUT, if your engine is high performance, change your oil as if it were not synthetic... That's my belief and I'm sticking to it....

im about to do an oil change on saturday and i was curious to what a good oil would be for a car that has 65 thousand miles on it.... im also doin plugs, wires, cap & rotor, and whatever else people tell me i should do..... im also gonna clean all my sensors and cheange my tranny fluid and flush my radiator..... i hope she'll run better afterwards!!!

He told you not to run synthetics because your rings won't seal properly on a fresh engine using synthetic oil. I'd start running synthetics after about 7500 miles. Just so you know that the engine is fully broken in.
