Default Modifying head ?

I just bought some GT40P heads on ebay. Brandnew for $ 405. I am gonna run a different cam so i am going to be getting some different valve springs. Is there anything else i can do to make these perform better ?

well quik says they perform ****ty unless heavily ported, so im pretty much stealing this from him, port tha hell outta them if you wanan run a cam over .500 lift.

you dont necessary need a cam over .500 to perform well. there are cams out there with under .500 lift that make great numbers. hell the stock class use cams like that under .500 and are running very quick times.

you can get a way with a TFS1 cam with its .499/.510 but i wouldnt push any thing else that high stock

springs allow you to have room for error. that way you dont float a valve or over compress a valve and allow it to hit the piston then all hell breaks loose. and yes you can have springs that are tooo strong and poorly setup wrong
