chrome doesnt rust. they just turn colors and they dont turn bad if you know what your doing.

Chrome is usually on top of mild steel, which rusts like nobody's business. One little scratch in the chrome (or black paint, or ceramic coating, etc) and you're done. Stainless shouldn't rust, unless it wasn't put together very well.
