what did i do wrong?
alright i decided to change my oil and filter as well as my spark plugs today. all went well, except i am not sure i have the right dip stick. i am pretty sure that the oil capacity of my 88 5.0 is 5 quarts. however, after adding 4 quarts, i checked it and it read over full, which i expected, because i hadnt started it yet, so i added the 5th quart. i then changed all the spark plugs(with autolite 23's), and washed my k&n filter, and oiled it. after replacing everything, when i started it up, took it for a ride, it now smokes, blue smoke really bad when you get into it.
the dip stick still says it is over full by 1+ quarts, that is why i think it may be the wrong dip stick, unless my oil capacity is only 4 qts. i dont know what i did wrong, anyone have any ideas. thanks.

yea, first oil change and plugs on this particular car. i dont know if it is possible that the plugs being a colder range could it, or the oiling of the k&n air filter did it, or something to do with the oil change. i did notice that when i drained the oil, it didnt seem like there was very much there.i just dont know were to go from here. thanks.
yea i just changed my oil today and it should hold 5 quarts an i also added some additives (about 1 quart) and it actually didnt even go up to the fullest full line on the dipstick.... so i put a total of 6 quarts in without problems
