ported e7 heads decked 50 thou???
i got some ported e7 heads that have bin decked 50 thou for 10:1 comp, had them all checked out and there all good got them fully rebuilt with comp cam springs and valves. its going onto a 92 block that hasent bin decked at all, with stock pistons. will the pistons hit the valves, my cam is 533 and 544 lift thanks

The lift is not what hurts you the most on pistion to valve clerance its mostly the duration...The ONLY way to truly tell is assemble the motor and clay it and see exactly how much tolerence you have...I would not trust guess work when it comes to things like this.

Question a little off topic, but just was wondering, are the heads only decked on the bottom? How does the intake fit now? Was it milled on that surface also? I was thinking of doing this but wasn't sure about the intake side.

I would say you will have lift in the .530 range on both sides with an E303 cam and 1.7 rockers. I did a 302 build with the E303 and 1.7 rockers without milled heads and had just enough piston to valve clearance. Each engine is a little different but I would think .050 off the heads will put you very very close to the piston on the intake side. I think, but am not sure that the E7Te heads have little metal on the deckface for milling that far so I hope the deck face of the heads doesn't move around much creating head gasket problems. What ever you do, as suggested by a guy above who knows in an above post, clay the engine to truely determine your piston to valve clearance.

i was told when i had my heads milled 40thousandths that my compression would be at 10. but if u ever decide to go with a stroker u won't be able to use the heads nemore but i am sure if u did go that option u wouldn't use stock heads neway
