Default dangerous car

does anybody know why when i step on the gas the engine rpms redline and stay there. the only thing i can do when this happens is push in the clutch pull over .. and shut off my car. the problem is when the engine redlines its doing alot of damage. does anybody know what could be causing my car to do this.. i have a valve breather with a maf and i was told that the computer cant read how much air is going in the engine.. just wondering if that could be it or if its a vacumm leak or anyting else thank u please reply

Sticking throttle maybe? Have checked that? Seems like the logical place to start.

i think i might need a new throttle cabe and the spring that connects the cable to the throttle body... but you dont think its the air breather in place of my oil filler cap thats messing things up ? or a vacumm leak?

my car did this once, turns out the floormat got bunched up and held the gas down.

but it sounds like your throttle body spring is not working, check it by opening the throttle and letting it go, it should have some force holding it closed.

My carpet got folded next to the bottom of the gas pedal and did that to me.
I took a wire tie and tied it off to the side.
