Default 88-93 mods?

Finally got my Stang and some cash saved up, I got a 91 LX. The body is in good shape so I wanna dump some time and money into it to make it go as fast as I can!....So what im hoping is that some of you guys are hard core and know what's the biggest engine you can get to fit, what other cars parts are usable and what kinda tranny, rear end, etc... I dont have the kinda cash to be able to buy top new parts, but im pretty resourcefull. So if you were puttin one together what would you be lookin for to put in it???

Thx for any info you have to share 8)

You need to set a budget before you can decide on what parts to get.
Also you need to set a goal for what the car will be used for and what you want to get out of it.

Ive got a '92 LX that I have AFR 165's heads, a custom ground Comp cam, roller rockers and more going on soon. It already has an Edelbrock Performer intake and 4.10 gears as well as some other bolt ons.
My car is a street car that I plan on taking to the track once or twice a week. I decided it needs to be as streetable as possible because I drive it alot on the street.

460 can fit, Jegs has the whole kit, you can stroke a 460 to a 500-600CI

Yes, I'm sure 80% + mustang owners on this forum got a mustang to be fast, but I got mine as my first car and I'm not trying to ruin it with engine mods...gas mileage, reliability, and audio are the most important to me.
