5.0 vs newer v6

RE: 5.0 vs newer v6
Stock 4.0s run the 1/4 in 15.0-15.3 seconds. The "basic bolt-ons" in the 4.0 world is an intake, exhaust and some sort of tune. That combo helps the car run 14.5-14.8 seconds in the 1/4. F/I 4.0s are in the 10s-13s. There are several F/I 4.0s on this site.
4.0s with intake, tune and exhaust are in the 205-215 rwhp range. All of these numbers are fairly even when comparing a stock 5.0.
I've beaten two 5.0 GTs that I thought were mostly stock. I raced an '03 GT, actually another forum member, and from a dig, we were even until we hit about 90 mph, and he slowly pulled ahead.
So, 4.0s shouldn't be taken lightly. There are several fast ones on this site.

no one is taking them lightly but theexcess weight of the 05+ and smaller displacment is the main downfall of the 4.0's obviously and stock to stock 5.0 would win and your right it would prob be a drivers race with 4.0 with a exhaust and tune.
