Ok i have a 1990 5.0, it has a few basics like 3.73 gears, a K&N air kit, Flow masters. ( and a short shifter which i dont know why the hell i got, total waist of money) . Anyways, i want to build some serious power and i want to start of with a new camshaft and headers. WHAT CAMSHAFT DO I GET?? IM GOING NUTS HERE. i want power throughout the rpm band and dont want to loose much take off. help me out guys. Oh and also what headers would be good, long tube or short?? i heard long tubes go good with cams. i would appreciate any help. thanks guys.

Wait until you do the heads atleast. Don't worry about a cam yet. You don't want to have to base your head and intake selection around the cam that you decided to install when you weren't sure what you wanted.

Longtube are superior but are more of a pain to put in. As for a cam a Fcam and a tfs stage 1 with 1.6 or steeda 18 or 19with 1.7's are good bang for the buck. Heads will make much more of a difference though on these motors.

yeah i am sort of getting ahead of myself. i should just finish up the bolt ons first huh. iv heard some bad *** stories about 5.0s running pretty sweet times on bolt ons alone.
