Default t-5 tranny question part 2

Ok today i talked to the mechanic that had previously worked on my car (tranny not wanting to go into second and grinds going into third) he said he put an adjustable cable on it new throwout bearing clutch and pressure plate. He also stated that he had to use almost all of the adjustment in the cable just to get it to go into first gear. I was wondering if since he didnt put the quadrant on there and take the self adjuster off if it could be causing the clutch not to fully disengage.Wandered if i put a firewall adjuster and aluminum quadrant on if it could solve my problem. Also wandered if I did this if i could use the adjustable cable that is already on the car or if I would have to buy a new one. Thanks for the help, Barry

with ANY aftermarket clutch, you should install a new aluminum quadrant

sometimes that works, other times, you need to get under there and do it manually
