mileage
im at 90,000 on motor, and 2xx,xxx+ on the body
things ive replaced.... front springs, front struts, transmission(soon to be twice), clutch, head gaskets, rear axle seals, headlights, multifunction switch... and prob some other stupid stuff....
realize tho... all of that except for the clutch, gaskets, seals, and switch... was by choice, and not needed
the transmission deal is just a long story, lol

you cant really go by mileage it depends on how it was driven and cared for .. just regular maintenance and oil changes are a big part of it . if the car has 150 k on it and it was abused all its life well then something bad is probably going to happen very soon ..on the other hand a properly cared for car at 150 k even if beat on every now and then will still probably go another 50 k .. even cars that are properly cared for will eventually break .. most car parts are not made to last for ever ..on a stock car especially over 100 k alternaters and batteries go bushings need to be replaced exhaust leaks happen but the same goes for any car .. if you love stangs id definately recommend a fox
i bought mine w/ 78k on it now have 92k on it. ive replaced the water pump, thermostat, and the head gasket.... but that was because the timing was too advanced and the guy i bought it off didnt tell me i had to run 93 and it started pinging and i was an idiot and didnt kno what it was at the time and it ended up blowing the HG.. ugh the other things were just for performance
I have a 89 GT with roughly about 100,679.. All i did was exhaust by choice lol.. Shocks, struts, and Front pads and rotors.. Also a couple other bolt ons.. And it runs great.. Best car ive had other than my 2000 Dakota R/T...
i know i have posted about this before, but since i like talking about it, and since i like ranting about how the previous, and original owner got stiffed because he took the car to get serviced at jiffy lube, and goodyear service centers[i guess he wasn't very mechanically inclined which is fine not everyone is, but he should know better than to take it to a jiffy lube or a rip off place like that] anyway i got the car august 11th 2003 it was 7 years old with 279xx miles. not bad.
93 5.0 lx hatchback 97k on the car, 11k on the motor.
50k tie rod ends - everything was fine, and it came up very sudden. no signs of failure until i hit a decent sized pothole, and they totally broke altogether. i greased them every time i changed the oil[6k miles] but apparently when the previous owner took it to jiffy lube according to the carfax he got it serviced there. they snowed him i'm sure with their 'signature service oil change!' where they also are supposed to grease the fittings, etc. they probably didn't but oh well.
clutch 50k - i replaced the clutch the same couple of nights i did the tie rod ends. the clutch wasn't burned out, actually it was fine. i had just bought a summit performance one about a month or two earlier but was too lazy to do it. i figured since i HAD to do the tie rod ends, than just do the clutch also in one shot.
catback exhaust 62k - again this was just a performance upgrade. the mufflers were rotting, but everything else was fine.
radiator 72k - now accordingto the carfax report the car was in an accident in july 1999. it was hit on the passengers side, the fender was replaced, and the radiator was supposedly replaced by the 'pros' at goodyear/jiffy lube but it was only patched. i noticed this a few months afteri bought the car when i was doing the cam. only it blew out on me a mile from home fortunately. it was on there for probably 5 years, but still i got screwed with it. it should have been replaced because the previous owners insurance paid for it to be, but the guy got screwed.
fuel pump relay/fuel pump 73k
motor 86k - a large valve cover gasket leaked all my oil dry.
starter solenoid - 96k - easy fix and only $8 part.
other than that i change the oil every 6k with mobil 1 synthetic. i've done 2 sets of brake pads, and a set of brake shoes, 1 battery, 1 set of tires, and all the modifications which i didn't list because i was just naming off mechanically wear parts. i also changed all 6 speakers last summer because they were rattling. i also have to say the ac is the best. it blows even colder than my 03 mach 1, and almost as cool as my 04 f350. i can't get over how cold it is for a 14 year old car, and everything in the ac system is original also.
