Default A/C compressor oil

How much oil is in a a/c compressor on a 1987 GT, & how do you get it out. I am doing a R12 to R134A update. I took the 2 tops off with the allen screws, but no oil came out. HELP

The A/C system does have oil in it.. PAG oil its called.

To get the oil out, you have to suck it out with t an A/C machine. Go to a auto shop and have them evacuate it.

My book for my 93 GT calls for 10oz of oil in the compressor, if you put in a new evap core add 3oz more, new condensor add 1oz more..if you replace an orifice tube or hose, add 2oz more oil.

I Just did mine, with new AC compressor, filter/drier, condenser, hoses, evap, liquid line and The entire system only called for 8oz of oil and 40oz of R-134

and Bobbo I certainly hope that you arent just doing this for the hell of it, I mean did a hose bust or compressor lock up, have you flushed the system, the chlorine thats in r-12 will destroy r-134 o-rings. Thats why r-134 o rings are green, the system needs to be flushed, drained, new drier, new orfice tube, new oil, evacuate the system, then refilled.

I am acertified AC tech so if you have any questions post them on here.
