Default Warming up

The past couple ofmornings have been pretty cold. My car will start up fine, but then a second later the rpms will drop and the car will stop running. I have to start it up againand keep it at about 2000 rpm for about 30 seconds, and than it will be fine. I than just let it idle for about 5 min before i leave for school. Is this normal or should it be somthing to worry about. The car runs great after it warms up.

Someone told me that forged pistons need to be given time to warm up and exapand before the car runs properly. Could this be the answer?

Never heard of the expanding pistons, sounds like a vacuum leak to me.

Is it carbureted, and if so, does it have a choke?

no it is not carburated. Would a vacuum leak only cause problems when it is cold out?

Could be a sensor. Does it start up fine when it's warmer out?
