buff out a keyed door
somebody though it would be cute to slash one of my friends tires and key my car. now i have a nice silver line on my drivers door. anybody know anything that could buff it out or at least make it look somewhat better?

The main thing you need to check is to see if he merely put a scratch in the clear coat or whether he went all the way through the paint to the metal. If he scrathched the clearcoat, wetsanding and some luck should fix it. If he went all the way through the base color, the best thing to do is get some touchup paint or if you want it fixed right, go to a body shop, but unfortunately, it won't be cheap.

depends on how deep it was. most likely wont be able to buff it out but i hear the nu finish actually works pretty well and hiding scratches. personally i would go to ford and get a touch up stick for like 7 bucks. it works pretty well. i used it on my 98 mustang a couple years ago

Also..if you can find a mobile spot painter if buffing doesnt work.
google in your area mobile ding repair,scratch repair,paint touch-up,mobile paint repair,dent repair.
One of those will locate one in your area.They can spot paint a panel or door for inexpensive or buff out scratch if minor.
Be careful if you do it yourself.You could burn through your clear and then it would be worse.Its better to call a professional
if you have to.
